IN FOURTH QUARTER REPORTS, WILL ROLLINS’ GRASSROOTS DONOR STRENGTH DOMINATES CALVERT’S HIGH-DOLLAR SUPPORT
Fourth quarter reports demonstrate that the momentum in CA-41 is behind Rollins’ campaign
CORONA, C.A. — On Wednesday, both Democrat Will Rollins and Republican Ken Calvert formally filed their fourth quarter reports with the Federal Election Commission.
Rollins outraised Calvert by more than $300,000 in the fourth quarter, with the difference in the two candidates’ respective reports largely in low-dollar grassroots contributions. Among donations from supporters who have given less than $200 this election cycle, Rollins outraised Calvert by more than 460%.
“We are building one of the biggest people-powered movements that Southern California has ever seen,” said Rollins. “Everyday hard-working folks across Riverside County are pitching in a few bucks at a time because they know that Calvert is failing to get the job done for us in Washington. Instead of finding common ground to lower costs, secure our border, and protect our democracy, Calvert is pandering to the far-right fringe elements of his party, and putting politics over people. Together, we are going to flip this seat and install representation for our district that works for us.”
Here’s a side-by-side comparison of Rollins and Calvert’s reports:
Grassroots donors carried Rollins’ fourth quarter success. Here are a few more key stats on the strength of Rollins’ low-dollar fundraising efforts:
- Over 18,000 unique individuals have donated to the campaign since launch;
- Over 70% of all donations since launch have been from supporters in California;
- Over 9,300 unique individuals donated in the fourth quarter;
- 91% of donations in the fourth quarter were $100 or less.
The fourth quarter reports follow the DCCC’s announcement earlier this week that Rollins was officially named to its coveted Red to Blue program, solidifying that California’s 41st District will be a top target for the party this fall.
