Waking up to horrific news coming out of Israel.
Last night’s unprovoked attack must be denounced unequivocally by nations around the world.
Israel has a right to defend itself. My thoughts are with the Israeli people this morning. America stands with you in the fight against terrorism.

Ken Calvert and his colleagues have left Washington without a Speaker.
They cannot keep our government open or support Israel in its time of need. If Calvert refuses to work, then he should be fired.

Despite the toxicity online, remember that we can both support Israel’s right to defend itself from the cruel murder of kids, youths, parents and grandparents by Hamas at the same time that we support the rights of Palestinians to live in peace and with dignity, just as every human being deserves.
I mourn the loss of every innocent Israeli and Palestinian killed in this war.

Hamas will never have the best interests of the Palestinian people in mind.
Hamas is a terrorist organization that has no place on this earth. Standing with Israel during this time isn’t controversial—it’s standing against terrorism and those who promote it.
When we look back at this moment in time, we will be remembered by our response to the attacks in Israel.
Supporting the eradication of Hamas is supporting the safety and security of the Israeli and Palestinian people.
So too is supporting the provision of humanitarian aid to innocents in Gaza.
Unfortunately, those in Congress, like Ken Calvert, won’t put politics aside to create a functioning government that is able to support our allies overseas.
A true testament of leadership is putting differences aside in moments like these. Calvert has failed.

Once again, with the House in chaos, and no functioning government, Ken Calvert is going home for the weekend.
Israel and Ukraine are at war. America needs a working Congress. We need a Speaker now.
Unlike Calvert, I won’t ever run away from my responsibilities.

As we stand with Israel as it hunts down terrorists, so too must we help secure a humanitarian corridor for aid to the innocent people – including Americans – stuck in Gaza.
A lasting peace between Israel and Palestine can only be achieved through a two-state solution that recognizes the dignity, worth, and humanity of Israelis and Palestinians alike.

This week, hundreds of thousands marched in Washington, D.C. in support of Israel, to stand up against antisemitism, and to call for the release of hostages.
Hamas is a terrorist organization. There is no disputing this.
The best hope for a lasting peace, a two-state solution, and the long-term protection of innocent Israelis and Palestinians is to take out the terrorist organization in control of Gaza.
I stand with those who marched.

I am thrilled that 25 hostages are coming home to their families.
I also support Israel’s agreement to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza that will help innocent Palestinians.
The best hope for a lasting peace is for Hamas to lay down its arms, and to release all remaining hostages.

As the month of Ramadan begins, America must work harder to ensure that innocent civilians are protected in Gaza. I applaud our military’s ongoing efforts to get more aid flowing to Palestinians.
