WILL ROLLINS PULLS FURTHER AHEAD IN THE FUNDRAISING RACE IN CALIFORNIA’S 41ST DISTRICT
Rollins raised nearly $850k more than Calvert in the second quarter; filed with more than $1.1M more in cash on hand.
CORONA, C.A. — This week, candidates for Congress filed their second-quarter fundraising reports, and in California’s 41st District, Democrat Will Rollins is pulling further ahead of his Republican opponent, Ken Calvert.
Between April and June, Rollins outraised Calvert by nearly $850,000 and filed with more than $1.1 million more in cash on hand, largely thanks to grassroots support.
*Unitemized donations are contributions from supporters who have given less than $200 over the course of the cycle.
“Over a year into our rematch here in Riverside County, our growing fundraising lead is proof that folks are crystal clear on the contrast between our candidacies and our visions for the future of the 41st District,” said Rollins. “We’ve built our campaign with real people, not corporate PACs. Over 44,000 individuals have now made at least one contribution, while Calvert’s reports are filled with special interests. Between now and November, our campaign will prioritize people over profits and continue to focus on delivering good jobs, wages, and benefits for working families in Riverside County.”
Here are additional details on the strength of Rollins’ fundraising operation:
- Over 44,000 unique individual donors this cycle.
- Over 65% of all contributions this cycle are from California.
- Over 29,000 total donations in the second quarter.
- Over 95% of contributions in the second quarter were $100 or less.
- $0 from corporate PACs.
As Rollins’ fundraising success continues to grow, the national media has placed a greater spotlight on the 41st Congressional District. In June, the LA Times published a profile on the 41st, entitled, “Veteran Republican congressman’s reign in Riverside County under siege.” Two weeks later, MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart invited Rollins for an appearance on his Sunday show.
