ROLLINS AND CALVERT LOCKED IN DEAD HEAT

New USC Poll Shows CA-41 Tied; POLITICO Calling the District the “Most Competitive” in California

CORONA, C.A. — In a new non-partisan poll released this week by a team of pollsters from the University of Southern California, CSU Long Beach, and Cal Poly Pomona, Democrat Will Rollins and Republican Ken Calvert are in an exact tie with just 40 days remaining until Election Day.

The poll found Rollins and Calvert both at 46.1%, with Calvert as the only Republican in a battleground district in California underperforming Steve Garvey in the U.S. Senate race and Donald Trump in the presidential race. More than a quarter of all voters in the district freely described Calvert as “corrupt,” in the survey, demonstrating that Rollins’ reform-driven campaign is resonating with voters in the 41st District.

“32 years is long enough,” said Rollins. “I was eight years old when Ken Calvert first took office, back when the price of a quart of milk was $1.11, a loaf of bread was 75 cents, gas cost $1.03 at the pump, and Mike Piazza was Rookie of the Year on the Dodgers. Since then, costs have gone up on Inland Empire residents, especially housing, while Ken Calvert has used taxpayer dollars to increase the value of his own properties, increase his own net worth by up to $20 million, and find himself on the list of most corrupt members of Congress. This message speaks for itself, and we’re taking it directly to voters. That’s why we are going to win this election.”

Another recent poll from Rasmussen Reports commissioned by U.S. Term Limits this month had Rollins leading Calvert by as much as six points, with 21% of the electorate still undecided. As reported by POLITICO, this new poll from USC states that the 41st could be “perhaps the most competitive in the state due to Rollins peeling ‘off a small but significant number’ of GOP-leaning voters.”

The USC poll also showed that Democratic voter enthusiasm in CA-41 was the highest of any competitive congressional district in California, and that Kamala Harris is leading Donald Trump among the district’s likely voters.

Will Rollins is a Palm Springs resident and Southern California native. A former federal prosecutor and counterterrorism law attorney, he is now the Democratic nominee for Congress in California’s 41st Congressional District. California’s 41st District is shaping up to be a key 2024 matchup that will help decide the House majority. Punchbowl News called it the #2 most critical race in the battle for control of the House, and the National Journal ranked it as one of its 15 seats most likely to flip this November.
