DEMOCRAT WILL ROLLINS RELEASES NEW AD FEATURING FORMER OPPONENT TIM SHERIDAN

Sheridan has endorsed Rollins; New ad highlights Calvert’s support for the cap on SALT deduction

CORONA, C.A. — Today, Democrat Will Rollins’ campaign released a new ad highlighting support from former Democratic primary opponent Tim Sheridan, who is the only Democratic elected official in the City of Lake Elsinore and previously served as its Mayor.

In the ad, “We Can Do Better,” Sheridan puts a focus on Congressman Ken Calvert’s 2017 vote to raise taxes on the average California taxpayer by $2,000/year, while handing out massive tax breaks to billionaires in states like Wyoming.

“For working families who need every dollar that they earn, this [vote] was a disaster,” says Councilmember Sheridan. “But for Ken Calvert’s special interest donors, it was not a disaster. They benefited. We can do better.”

The new ad is part of the Rollins’ campaign’s seven-figure digital advertising campaign through Election Day. You can watch the spot HERE.

The SALT cap is back under the spotlight in recent weeks, as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has openly expressed a willingness to repeal the cap that his signature 2017 tax law instituted.

Speaking of special interest donors who benefited from the 2017 tax law, Calvert has been heavily funded by the corporate industries to which he gave massive tax breaks, including nearly $2 million from Wall Street, nearly $500,000 from the oil and gas industry, and more than $170,000 from Big Pharma.

Calvert has little time to set the record straight on where he stands on the SALT cap, with ballots dropping in exactly one week and less than 40 days to Election Day.

Will Rollins is a Palm Springs resident and Southern California native. A former federal prosecutor and counterterrorism law attorney, he is now the Democratic nominee for Congress in California’s 41st Congressional District. California’s 41st District is shaping up to be a key 2024 matchup that will help decide the House majority. Punchbowl News called it the #2 most critical race in the battle for control of the House, and the National Journal ranked it as one of its 15 seats most likely to flip this November.
