NEW AD FROM CA-41 CANDIDATE WILL ROLLINS EXPOSES KEN CALVERT’S CONTINUED SELF-DEALING
Calvert faced another ethics complaint this year over conflicts of interest
CORONA, C.A. — With less than three weeks left before Election Day, a brand new ad from CA-41 Democratic nominee Will Rollins is reminding voters of Ken Calvert’s corruption and self-dealing.
“Calvert’s corruption isn’t an isolated experience, it’s a pattern of practice,” said Rollins. “He’s been under scrutiny for decades for using taxpayer dollars to enrich himself, increasing his net worth by up to $20 million. All the while, Riverside County residents have been facing rising housing costs. Calvert’s in it for himself, not for you. On November 5th, we’re going to replace his self-dealing with a new generation of leadership that has the courage to put people over profits.”
The ad, “Caught Again,” is part of Rollins’s seven-figure advertising blitz across the Los Angeles and Palm Springs media markets. You can watch the new spot HERE.
“Caught Again” highlights news coverage from this year’s ethics complaint against Calvert filed by watchdog group End Citizens United (ECU). The complaint detailed Calvert failing to disclose properties he owns that fall near transit projects he funded with federal dollars through earmarks he secured on Capitol Hill.
Nearly 20 years ago, the LA Times and Fox News exposed Ken Calvert for gaming the earmarks system in D.C. to benefit the value of his personal properties. Calvert and his business partners bought a vacant parcel of land in Riverside, after which he earmarked a highway exchange and subsequent commercial development nearby, and then sold the property for a massive profit. The controversy made him the subject of his first of two FBI investigations. Because of his self-dealing, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington called him one of the most corrupt members of Congress for five years straight.

Will Rollins is a Palm Springs resident and Southern California native. A former federal prosecutor and counterterrorism law attorney, he is now the Democratic nominee for Congress in California’s 41st Congressional District. California’s 41st District is shaping up to be a key 2024 matchup that will help decide the House majority. Punchbowl News called it the #2 most critical race in the battle for control of the House, and the National Journal ranked it as one of its 15 seats most likely to flip this November.
