DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE WILL ROLLINS (CA-41) RAISES OVER $1,400,000
Rollins sets another all-time fundraising record against Ken Calvert
PALM SPRINGS, CA — Democratic congressional candidate and former federal prosecutor Will Rollins raised over $1,450,000 in the third quarter, bringing his combined total to nearly $3,000,000 overall and his cash on hand to over $1,000,00 heading into the final weeks of the campaign.
With four weeks before the November 8th election, this record-breaking total – $3,000,000 – is five times more than any Democrat has raised against Republican Ken Calvert in history.
Rollins said: “Each week, our momentum grows and Ken Calvert’s grip on this seat dwindles. Calvert has had 30 years to build relationships with the special interests in Washington propping up his campaign. I want to thank the thousands of grassroots donors who have helped us cross another historic milestone in this people-powered campaign. We have taken zero corporate dollars, and the latest fundraising numbers prove the wind is at our backs as we approach November 8th.
“While corporations and special interest groups continue to fill Ken Calvert’s coffers, our support from individuals shows that people on both sides of the aisle are fed up with his self-dealing and extremist politics. Voters are looking for a representative who will stand up for the people of the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley and represent all of us.”
According to election analysts, California’s new 41st Congressional district will be historically competitive in 2022, with a +7 Democratic registration bump after redistricting. Since January, Republicans have lost about 1,000 registrants, while Democrats gained about 2,000. Results from the June primary showed that a majority of voters rejected Ken Calvert, and for the first time in over a decade, his earned vote share fell below 50%. In June, after ballots were counted, Rollins became the only Democratic challenger in California to see an improved race rating from The Cook Political Report.
