STATEMENT FROM CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE WILL ROLLINS ON KEN CALVERT’S VOTE TO CUT LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CHILDCARE FUNDING FOR RIVERSIDE COUNTY AND THE NATION

Calvert initially voted for a Continuing Resolution proposal that would have dealt a major blow to Riverside County families.

CORONA, C.A. — This weekend, House Democrats voted to keep our government open for 45 days, ensuring active-duty servicemembers and federal workers are paid after MAGA extremists led us to a brink of a government shutdown.

But on Friday, Ken Calvert voted in favor of devastating cuts to critical programs that support Riverside County’s families and law enforcement in MAGA Republicans’ failed Continuing Resolution.

In response, congressional candidate Will Rollins issued the following statement:

“Ken Calvert made it perfectly clear that blind loyalty to party leadership is more important than keeping Riverside County families safe. Calvert voted for legislation on Friday that would have cut FBI agents, local law enforcement officers, federal prosecutors, and agents at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. His vote also would have devastated Riverside County children and families who depend on child care, Headstart, and nutrition programs like Meals on Wheels.

“By voting with his fellow MAGA extremists on the most far-right Continuing Resolution possible before Democrats stood their ground, Ken Calvert gave us a preview of what’s to come, and he reminded us once again that he’s more concerned about scoring political points with a radical base than doing something good for ordinary Republicans and Democrats back at home. Since Calvert has decided that 30 years of using a seat in Congress to get rich isn’t enough, we will send him packing in 2024.”
